Working Man’s Tournament
Rules
1.
Tournament hours are from 5:30 PM to 8:30 PM. You must be in the no
wake zone at the weigh in site by 8:30 PM or a late penalty will be
assessed.
2.
You must
have your boat livewell checked by a tournament official prior to
the start of the tournament.
3.
No
alcoholic beverages will be consumed during tournament hours.
4.
No more
than five (5) fish will be counted. Each fish must be a minimum of
twelve (12) inches measured on a golden rule. Mashed or mangled
fish will not be counted.
5.
Tournament waters
will be off limits the day of the tournament for all tournament
contestants.
6.
Only
artificial bait will be used.
7.
Penalties:
Once fish are presented to the tournament officials the contestant
will not be able to cull his or her fish. The fish will be counted
and if length is questionable, they will be measured. For each fish
over five (5), the catch will be culled from the largest one down.
Each fish under twelve (12) inches will be culled and the contestant
will be assessed a penalty of four (4) ounces for each fish under
twelve inches. A penalty of four (4) ounces will be assessed for
each dead fish. A one (1) pound per minute penalty will be assessed
for each minute late, up to 15 minutes. After 15 minutes the
contestant will be disqualified.
8.
The no wake zone at
Cypress Garden’s boat launch area is off limits for fishing to
tournament contestants during tournament hours.
9.
Life
Jackets will be worn anytime the combustion engine is running.
Failure to adhere to this rule will result in disqualification.
10.
Tournament points: There will be 100 points per tournament. Points
are awarded according to finish. 1st place 100, 2nd place 99, etc.
11.
Cypress
Garden’s boat ramp has a no wake zone that is clearly marked as
such. Failure to comply with this will result in disqualification.
Boater safety and courtesy
will be observed at all times.
