I have a Dodge that does a good job. I borrow the wife's Z-71 every now and then and it does a better job. I think the way the truck is equipped (suspension, tranny cooler, towing capacity, gear ratio, etc.) makes more of a difference than the brand. However, I like the Chevy. You getting ready to buy one Sweeper? |

There is not a truck on the market that is better at towing than a Ford. That is a fact not an opinion. Integrated brake controller/trailer sway control/backup camera to hook up/Towing capacity of 11,300 lbs/Payload 3030 lbs and much more and those weights are for the F150.
Here is some info on the brake control/trailer sway systems: Factory-installed and warranted by Ford Motor Company • Fully integrated into the instrument panel and the vehicle’s onboard computer • Ensures smooth and effective trailer braking by powering the trailer’s electric brakes with a proportional output based on the towing vehicle’s brake pressure • Controller adapts its output based on the status of the Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) • When the ABS module senses the towing vehicle’s brakes are approaching lockup, the controller’s braking strategy changes to compensate for traction conditions, reducing the risk of trailer brake lockup • Provides instant visual/audible warning in case of accidental trailer disconnect • Includes the following user indicators in the Message Center: – Trailer connection indicator – GAIN setting display – OUTPUT bar graph • Manual control lever and +/– (GAIN adjustment) buttons located on the instrument panel allow the trailer brakes to be manually applied and adjusted for optimum performance • Available on all models Requires: – Trailer Tow Package – Fog lamps with XL Décor Group and STX, XLT
Standard on all F-150 models • Works in conjunction with the AdvanceTrac® with RSC® (Roll Stability Control™) system to expand the vehicle’s dynamic stability control capabilities, adding an additional layer of confidence and control while towing a trailer • AdvanceTrac control module incorporates additional software to monitor the truck’s performance while towing • The added software measures the yaw motion of the truck to determine if the trailer is swaying and then responds to eliminate the sway condition by applying brake force to individual wheels, and if necessary, reducing engine power to help the driver regain control of the trailer • If the vehicle is equipped with the available Trailer Brake Controller and the trailer has electric brakes, the trailer brakes will be also be activated to help reduce the sway condition and help the driver regain control of the trailer.
Let me know if you want to come take a look at one. Jones Ford

All jokes aside, the new Fiesta can out tow the Chevy and Toyota.
That is almost a fact.

| Most bass boat trailer brakes are surge brakes not electric. Still some nice facts to know about the Ford. |

They still putting that Triton V-8 in the Fords? The one that's $1200 to tune up? You can of course just get the plugs changed for $400...if none of them wring off in the heads when being removed. Threads on plugs extend below head-when they get carboned up from being partially inside the combustion chamber.. then they lock up and wring off when being removed-then the heads have to come off. Then it is an $800 plug job. Another one of Ford's better ideas. You can always take the motor out....makes them easier to push.
Chevy....at 190,000 miles mine is almost broken in. And I can work on it as if I ever had to.

I have owned one Ford and a lot of Chevy,s. The Ford can not tow any where as near as good as a Chevy.

Some of that super towing stuff might be needed if towing mobile homes or big RVs instead of boats. There is no substitute for good defensive driving habits (i.e. not following too closely (which as far as I can tell accounts for about 90% of all accidents), and anticipating mistakes made by idiots.) Lots of things there to fail and be extremely costly to repair. If you are inclined to trade trucks every couple of years before the warranty runs out I guess that's OK) Not economically feasible for this ol' boy.
